I have many memories of those last days of March 2020. I remember the sounds: the voices of seagulls, the sound of the wind, and the shouting of preachers announcing the end of the world.
Even the echo of a stranger's footsteps in the urban silence.
I had the privilege of documenting the streets, walking thousands of steps every day, and gathering a collection of moments through the longest year recorded since the Second World War: 'Twentysomething.'
This book is a visual chronicle of London during the global pandemic, from the initial days of lockdown to the gradual easing of restrictions. Unlike a celebration of emptiness, the photographs in this book aim to encapsulate a positive and uplifting narrative, telling a poignant story—a pursuit of life amidst the challenges.
From distance to proximity.
From silence to laughter.
From nothing to life.
From candid moments to intentional poses, this collection encapsulates a range of faces, emotions, and narratives that I tried to capture through the years.
The day I decided to document the Extinction Rebellion protests in London, my goal was to present a respectful perspective on the organization's objectives and the events. With the utilization of a modified camera, the full-color infrared photos I captured were not merely an exercise in style but a deliberate and meaningful choice.
Red, a prominent color for Extinction Rebellion (XR), holds significance beyond its association with the organization. Red blood serves as a universal warning sign our bodies use to visualize issues and is also recognized as an attention-seeking color in various cultures. I made the deliberate decision to utilize red to depict trees, rebels, police, commuters, food, and objects, all affected by the same problem.
This choice stems from the fact that infrared rays of light equally impact clothes, dyed hair, fabrics, and more, rendering them the same color. If the Rebellion aims to foster self-awareness about the climate crisis, these images can be seen as a metaphor for a planet in distress.
Captured using a Full Spectrum Canon EOS-M + 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 lens with an IR Chroma Filter.
Inspired by the words of Woody Guthrie and the music of Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), 'Someday, some morning, sometime' is an exhibition project that links moments occurring in distant locations through a shared sense of time suspension and emptiness.
2010-2020
Nobody knows how this could have happened. It was 2016, on the 23rd of June when we raised our eyes to the sky, and IT was there.
In 2024, IT is still there, and nobody knows what is coming next.

Storytelling in Rome is almost impossible.
Compared to the eternal city, all our stories are just passing by.
Ideas, projects and images in random order.
